VODAFONE LAUNCHES THEIR BAHRAIN OPERATION
Laserland/Emotion Media Factory enthrall the guests at the launch ceremony with high-quality entertainment and a technological world premiere.
On 28 December, 2003, the mobile telecommunications provider officially launched its operations in the Arabian island kingdom. To celebrate the event, the renowned promoter Pico (www.picoworld.com) organized a week-long "Vodafone Fair" where the company presented itself and its products to the public in an exhibition area of some 4000 square meters. Laserland/Emotion Media Factory were commissioned with designing the opening event. To do justice to the occasion, Laserland/Emotion Media Factory (EMF) developed a special HoloPortÒ show, which involved projecting crystal clear video clips onto a stage 18 meters wide and 20 meters deep. The extraordinary size of the venue meant that the event presented considerable challenges in respect to design, technology and implementation. It was the first time that a HoloPortÒ had been used anywhere in the world under such difficult circumstances. The choreography for the "floating video screen" covered the entire history of communications (from bush drums and smoke signals through carrier pigeons right up to the very latest developments on the market). The show was rounded off by traditional dances of the host nation. The guests included not only the top executives from Vodaphone, but also all the ministers of state and prominent pesonalities from Bahrain's economic, cultural and political scenes. Originally planned for one night, the twenty-minute event was such a hit with the public that Vodafone promptly booked the whole show for the entire following week.
